FAQ For Tasmanian Bullion Company

Frequently Asked Questions – Tasmanian Bullion Company

1. Who is Tasmanian Bullion Company?

Tasmanian Bullion Company is a family-owned business based in Tasmania. We specialize in hand-poured and stamped fine gold & silver bullion, offering unique bullion weights, exclusive picture bars, and custom designs. Our team consists of a husband and wife duo with a background in the jewellery industry, alongside our qualified gemmologist daughter, software engineering student son, and a future bullion maker in our youngest daughter!

2. What makes your bullion different from mass-produced bullion?

Unlike mass-produced bullion, every piece we make is hand-poured, individually stamped, and finished by us in our small studio workshop. No two bars are exactly alike, and we take pride in creating unique bullion weights and designs that are not commonly found elsewhere.

3. Do you make custom bullion orders?

Yes! We are happy to take on custom orders and work with customers who have their own design ideas. Whether it’s a personalized bullion concept, unique stamping request, or a special picture bar design, we’d love to collaborate with you. Contact us to discuss your ideas!

4. What purity is your silver and gold bullion?

All of our fine silver bullion is 99.9% pure (999FS), and our fine gold bullion is 99.99% pure (9999). Each bar is stamped with its purity and weight for verification.

5. Do you over-pour your bullion?

Yes! We intentionally over-pour to ensure that every bar weighs at least the stamped weight or more. We guarantee that every bar we produce will be over the stated weight, providing extra value for your investment.

6. What is a picture bar?

A picture bar is a bullion piece featuring detailed imagery, such as nature-inspired artwork, historical references, or custom engravings. Some of our most popular picture bars include:

🌄 Mountain ranges with cabins – capturing the beauty of Tasmania’s rugged landscapes.
🌲 Forests & wildlife – inspired by Tasmania’s pristine bushlands.
🦅 Eagles & majestic birds – representing freedom and power.
🛸 UFOs & aliens – a customer favorite, especially among parents looking to invest in bullion for their children’s financial future.
🏴‍☠️ Pirate-themed bars – extremely popular with kids, as parents often purchase them as a fun way to start a secure financial investment for their child.

These bars combine art and investment, making them highly collectible and a standout addition to any bullion collection.

7. Do you make uniquely Australian bullion designs?

Yes! We take pride in producing Australian-made bullion that showcases our country's beauty. Some of our exclusive Australian-themed designs include:
✔ Tasmania map bars – celebrating our home state with intricate stamped designs.
✔ Australia map bars – perfect for collectors who want to own a unique piece of Australian bullion.
✔ Wildlife & nature designs – inspired by Australia’s diverse landscapes, from the outback to the coast.

These locally made, uniquely designed bars reflect our passion for Australian craftsmanship and bullion artistry.

8. How many metal stamps & molds do you have?

We have hundreds of metal stamps and molds—and I must confess, I have an addiction to buying them all the time! This vast collection allows us to create an incredible variety of designs, from intricate artwork to bold, classic bullion styles. Whether you're after historical motifs, modern engravings, or one-of-a-kind designs, chances are we have the perfect stamp for it!

9. How can investing in bullion help secure my financial future?

Gold and silver bullion have historically been reliable stores of value, making them a great way to diversify your portfolio and protect against inflation. Many customers purchase bullion as a long-term investment for their financial future, whether for themselves or as a gift for their children.

10. Why do investors prefer physical bullion over online investments?

Many investors express confidence and security in holding physical bullion rather than digital or paper-based investments. Unlike online assets, physical gold and silver cannot be erased, hacked, or devalued by third-party platforms. Bullion is a tangible store of value, allowing investors to directly own and control their wealth, making it a trusted hedge against financial instability.

11. What sizes and weights do you offer?

We offer a range of unique bullion weights, including:
✔ Smaller weights such as 15g, 20g, and 1oz for collectors and stackers.
✔ Larger bars, including our 300g fine silver bullion, our largest hand-poured piece.
